Car import timings to Uganda

Importing your car to Uganda from the UK takes 65 days on average. The timings are broken out in the diagram below. When your car reaches Mombasa you are welcome to use our clearing agent who will manage your import to Kamapala.

Day 1: Collection

Days 2 - 8: Shipping booked, QISJ inspection, Tuning and modifications, Delivered to the UK port.

Days 9-12: Packed & loaded onto the ship

Days 13 -30/40: Shipped to Mombasa

Days 41 - 55: Arrival in Mombasa, Unloaded, cleared and registered.

Days 56 - 62: Transported to Kampala, Delivered to Bond, Registered to Uganda ready for you to drive home

Car import and registration assistance to Kampala

Our agent will take care of all the requirements to import and register your car for you if you wish. If instructed, they undertake all of the following on your behalf.

On reaching Kenya

• Optional de-stuffing of container. • Port charges in Mombasa. • Fully comprehensive insurance cover.

On reaching Uganda.

Import and registration into Uganda • Inland transportation. • Customs duties and taxes: Import tax, withholding tax and VAT. • Environmental Levy (for cars over 8 years old) • Infrastructure Levy • Vehicle registration. • Bond charges in Kampala. • Pre-delivery inspection & full valet. • Clearing agents fees.

What you receive by courier

We will courier all for your vehicle documentation to your preferred address. This is usually you or your nominated clearing agent.
