New Shipping Regulations for Electric Cars

A recent incident onboard a cargo ship has changed the shipping requirements for electrics cars. Concerns over battery safety has lead to most shipping companies changing their regulations for electric cars. Previously electric cars could be shipped using Ro-Ro or container services. Electric cars must now be shipped in containers if they are destined for New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia, USA and the Caribbean. These rules apply to full electric cars and not hybrid cars. They do no affect cars being shipped to Africa. It is advisable to check the latest shipping requirements for electric and hybrid cars with us when considering buying an electric car or hybrid car for export.
